I don't know of a better place to get street tacos. Diego's is so good, I'll actually go into Provo to get it.
MoreSome of the best Mexican food around. Try the carne asana burrito, beef chimi, or the flaunts. You will not regret it!
MoreThe food is definitely authentic and very good! That is of course if it doesn't make you sick. Don't get me wrong, I have been going there for months with no issues, but the last time we ate there my buddy and I both got sick. After some deductive logic, it had to be the black beans. It was great going down...just not coming back up.It will probably take a while for me to go back.
MoreBest burritos in town!
If you are looking for "real" Mexican food, this is about as good as it gets. Since getting back from Mexico I have been looking for somewhere that makes tacos the right way, and this is the closest I've seen by far. Great people, great food, highly recommended.
MoreGreat place, Authentic style. Getting addicted.
The location allows for pleasant ambiance inside or out. This is not a 4-star type eatery; it feels more authentic in terms of real Mexican food. I ordered a Gringa, and one taco al pastor. Both were cheap: Gringa: $3.75. Pastor: $1.25. They carry both Mexican soda products chilled in 1/2 liter sizes [saw Coke and Pepsi], plus a typical soda bar. Nearby the soda bar is a small station where one can load up on limes, and several salsa's. I saw salsa verde, red sauce, and pico de gallo. As my food looked just fine without, I grabbed a few limes to drizzle the two parts. Both were pleasant. The seasoning of the meat was not overwhelming [like some gringa's I have had in Mexico], and the cheese was plenty melted, the cilantro on the fresh side. My recommendations: Sweet Bro's: Leave it. You'll prefer a Costa Vida scene. This is more gritty-type food. Foodies: come enjoy the pleasant change of scene, spacious setting & few hipsters.
MoreInsulted for average quality food. I came into Diego's at 11:45 with a text message promotion. I asked for the special as advertized in the promotion, but he refused to give it to my until 12:00 and asked me if I even understand english. The text message clearly said that it was good for the day. Then when I paid in cash he said that he didn't have change. I really felt like he was trying to rip me off. Basically, come here if you want to be insulted for mediocre food.
MoreThey are now located on the south side of 300 N between University Ave and 100 W. My wife and I love the Paco Taco meal
MoreREAD THIS!!! I went into Diegos with a group of friends for Cinco De Mayo. When I purchased my food the owner quickly took my credit card and swiped it while he explained you have to buy a minimum of $5 of food to use a credit card... SINCE MY ORDER WAS ONLY ABOUT $3 HE CONTINUED TO EXPLAIN AS THE RECEIPT PRINTED OUT THAT THE EXTRA $2 WAS JUST GOING TO BE A TIP!!! I IMMEDIATELY PROTESTED THAT I WAS NOT OKAY WITH HIM DOING THAT, AND THAT HIS BUSINESS ONLY GETS A TIP AFTER I TRY THEIR FOOD. He embarrassingly rebutted, "that's not how it works here..." Wrong!!! I argued and got my money back as I explained, "That is definitely how it works here in AMERICA!" As far as I'm concerned, what he did was pretty shady and probably illegal! I was so disgusted that I can't even remember if the food was good. Hope is was worth the $2 Diegos!!! Thanks Google for providing a way to empower customers like me to warn anyone considering eating at a place like this.
